ScientificCommons online

We finnally got ScientificCommons online and welcome the first visitors. There is still a huge amount of work to do, but a first draft is done. The whole base system for crawling, data preparation, data extraction, search and presentation is stable by now. Fixing small issues has now become the main job for the last days. Another feature, which comes very handy with the new release of IE 7 and Firefox 2.0 is the opensearch functionality. We already added ScientificCommons to Amazons A9 and the integration in the browser works like a charme ;-).
The next thing on our todo list is to create various RSS feeds to get updated about new publication and authors. There will be RSS feeds for the latest publications, latest publication by author, by repository and some other. We are experimenting a lot with the interface in the moment, as we want to make the navigation and functionality ascomfortable and easy to use as possible.
