music recommendation: Rodrigo y Gabriela

posted on Thu, June 21st, 2007

I already bothered my colleagues the last days with the songs of Rogrigo y Gabriela. I just can't stop listening to it. It's this kind of music that you can listen over and over again, and it'll always put you in a good mood. Normally that isn't the kind of music I'm very attached to. I just got hold of it in a recent blog entry and was curious. And then it took me :-).

Both played heavy metal before the found there passion for the acoustic guitar. The music is definitely influenced from heavy metal as sometimes you think an army of guitarists are storming through the speaker. It's full of energy and then some latin tunes chime in and get you in the right mood. For me just the right sound for the summer.

First Curacao Impressions

I'm here in Curacao for the first time in my life and I have to say I really enjoy it. It is damn hot and sunny with some clouds from now and then. We arrived on sunday at the evening and were welcomed from Bianca from the Curacao Tourist Board. We all were a bit dizzy from the flight and just fell into the bed almost instantly. We (Sylvie, Andi and me) are attending the Curacao Dive Festival were Andi is giving some talks and I am writing a webcast on digideep. So far we have been diving the mornings and early afternoons and then attended the various presentations about underwater photography or videography in various resorts around the island.

As Torsten asked three months ago I just accidentally said yes to join in and attend the Bern Grand Prix 2007. The Bern Grand Prix is a 10 miles (16km) run through Bern city and the biggest event of its kind in Switzerland. This year more than 24,000 runner took part and ran through the beautiful city of Bern and through a enthusiastic crowd standing along the way.

Sushi Dinner

Sushi dinner
On wednesday I invited some colleagues and my neighbours to have a sushi dinner at my place. As nobody had prior experiences in making sushi before I just prepared everything and then we made the sushi together. Actually we made maki rolls the whole evening as it is the easiest one to make. I tried some nigiri, which came out ok, but I spend to much time for it. But most of the maki's came out quite nicely and it seems that everybody enjoyed the evening. Afterwards I've been taught Poker by Matthes and Tine, but could grasp their enthusiasm for the game.

St.Gallen Spring
Spring has arrived in St. Gallen. Everything is blooming and the streets are filled with people enjoying the sun and trinking coffee. I just wandered around a bit and tried how to get some decent images with the fisheye. Enjoy!
