posted on Sat, March 24th, 2007

I've just updated the Share This! plugin. It has now StumbleUpon included. As the number of option is increasing and not everybody seems to like or need everything, I've included another parameter, which lets you control the options. Just add the parameter exclude within the share_this tag and add the options you don't like to include. A detailed list with all available options can be found in the readme of the zip or here.

Update Video Extension

posted on Mon, February 05th, 2007

I just updated the Expression Engine Video Extension.

1. It is now possible to use either a complete url or the video doc_id. I got a lot of inquiries from many users, who just entered the complete url, which is easy to copy and paste. So it was logically accept the url and strip the doc_id out of the url. [This works only for youtube and google video]

2. The extension can now be used for weblog entries and weblog comments also. So if you like to add the youtube videos in your weblog entries you don't longer need to copy and paste, the whole object code within your weblog entry.

Example:
[youtube]doc_id[ /youtube] or
[google]doc_id[ /google]

3. More video sites are supported: youtube, googlevideo, photobucket, vimeo and animoto

Videoplug Extension for Forum

posted on Tue, January 02nd, 2007

This extension allows you to add youtube and googlevideo to Expression Engine forum posts. To use it in the forum a user just needs to add:

[youtube]docid[/youtube] or
[googlevideo]docid[/googlevideo]

in their post. There are two functions included. The first one is to get the code translated into the correct html object code and the second one adds some user friendly buttons to the forum post interface. Here you can see it working.
Expression Engine Forum Module 1.3.2 is required in order to run that extension.

Exifier Extension

posted on Tue, January 02nd, 2007

This Expression Engine Extension adds some template variables to display exif information of images attached to a post in the forum module. It is an extension for the Expression Engine Forum module only. Here you can see it working.
I used some code from the Exif Plugin and modified it.
The Extension shows some basic exif variables and the full exif included in the images. The exif information will be only displayed for jpeg images. Expression Engine Forum Module 1.3.2 is required in order to run that extension.

posted on Sun, December 10th, 2006

Three weeks ago I just stumbled over the Share This Wordpress plugin from Alex King, which I found very helpful and thought that it would be pretty nice to have in EE as well. So I just had a look at that code and wrote a plugin for EE based on the digg this plugin from Vik Rubenfeld. The plugin can be used in an "light" and in an "advanced" mode. The "light" mode is without any email functionality. If you have the tell-a-friend module installed you can use the plugin in the advanced mode, which enables the email tab in the layer. Expression Engine 1.5.2. is required in order to run that plugin.
