Dropping Knowledge

Ok, it's a bit late that I write about it, but anyway. Tomorrow on the 9th Sept. an unuasal event called Dropping Knowledge will be held in Berlin. A group of artist has organized a round table with 112 (world's greatest) minds (until now nobody knows who they are). They shall answer 100 questions, which are chosen out of thousands send from the public on their webpage. All answers are going to be recorded, analyzed and structured automatically and used to build a knowledge base, which can be queried in various ways. These knowledge base is supposed to base for further discussions on the created platform.

I was quite amazed by the facts that at first they got so many people to sit on the round table, second by their professional appearance (web & ads) and third their corporation with the DFKI. That latter one drawed my attention as I was expecting some new ideas on how to create that knowledge base. I'm still curious, but after I listened an interview with Prof. Dr. Hans Uszkoreit on chaos radio [german]. I was a bit disappointed. Their solution will still need a lot of manual intervention to create the searchable knowledge base. From the interview I couldn't figure out any new technologies their are using, but we will see. The good thing is they want to provide all the material for others, too.
